[Ginkakuji Temple]

It is no exaggeration to say that a #trip to Kyoto must include #Ginkakuji, also known as #Jishoji. Ginkakuji was built by #Ashikaga Yoshimasa, the 8th Shogun of the Muromachi Shogunate, during the #Muromachi period. Ginkakuji is a Chinese style Buddhist temple building, and has been designated a #national treasure for its beauty and historical value.

To get here, you can take the Kyoto City Bus, which runs through the city in great numbers. The bus stop is easily named Ginkakuji-michi, and from the bus stop there is a path like an approach to the temple with many shops. There are many soft serve ice creams and other sweets here, so we recommend #eating around and enjoying the #gourmet food.

There are two piles of sand in the garden in front of the main hall. They represent waves, and the contrast with Ginkakuji is very beautiful. Also, looking at Ginkakuji from a high place is a different view, and it is exceptional.
