[Kyoto] World Heritage temples lit up✨

Visited in July 2023

*Ninna-ji Temple

Omuro-Ouchi, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City

Get off at the city bus stop "Omuro-Ninna-ji"

5-minute walk from Omuro Station on the Keifuku Kitano Line

Ninna-ji Temple was founded in the 4th year of the Ninna era

It is currently the head temple of the Omuro school of Shingon Buddhism😊

The grounds are lined with buildings erected during the Edo period, such as the five-story pagoda and Niomon Gate✨

The Omuro cherry blossoms, which were planted at the same time, are in full bloom in mid-April

But like the buildings, It still looks the same today as it did back then🌸

When you pass through the vermilion-painted inner gate, you can see the Kondo, which was relocated from the Imperial Palace's Shishinden, as well as the five-story pagoda and Kannon Hall☺️

It is highly prestigious as a monzeki temple, and has also appeared in many classics such as "Tsurezuregusa" and "Hojoki"✨

This time, a light-up event was being held at this historic temple🎵

Various events are held throughout the seasons, so it's a place you'll want to visit again in a different season😊
