Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, Kyoto

The Arashiyama Bamboo Groves, located in Arashiyama, Kyoto Prefecture, is another popular tourist attraction in Kyoto.

The grove features a walking path lined with bamboo trees as far as the eye can see. The path stretches for approximately 500 meters, lined with tall, green bamboo trees reaching over 10 meters high. This makes it the largest bamboo grove in Japan.

If you're tired from walking, there are Japanese rickshaws (jinrikisha) available at the entrance. You'll also see many women in kimonos taking photos in the grove, adding a touch of color to your visit.

As we continue our walk, Halfway along the path, you'll find Nonomiya Jinja Shrine, a shrine renowned for its love of marriage. Visitors often come here to pray for good fortune.

📍Getting there: From Kyoto, take the JR Line to Saga-Arashiyama Station, then walk for 10 minutes. Or take the Hankyu Line to Arashiyama Station, then walk for 15 minutes.
