There are many places where you can see illuminations, but this is the only place where you can see projection mapping in a garden with weeping cherry trees✨

Today, we will introduce "Kodaiji Temple", which has a dry landscape garden called Hashintei

We will also introduce some tips for enjoying the illuminations at Kodaiji Temple!

[About Kodaiji Temple illuminations]

Kodaiji Temple has 50 weeping cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino cherry trees, and the weeping cherry trees in Hashintei are the most beautiful🌸
These weeping cherry trees are said to look like "elegant Kyoto beauties" as their branches hang down on the white sand👩
In addition, there is projection mapping in the garden, so you can see an even more fantastical sight🤩

[Tips for conquering the temple]

The trick to conquering Kodaiji is to go just before the gates close.

The closing time (end of illumination) of Kodaiji is 22:00, which is later than other illumination spots!

The reception is at 21:30, so it's best to aim to go around that time 💡

That way you can avoid the crowds ✨

The main attractions are the weeping cherry blossoms and the garden, so 30 minutes should be enough!
The bamboo forest is also lit up, so if you want to take your time, you can go a little earlier.

The illuminations at the nearby Kiyomizu-dera Temple end at 9:30 p.m., so it's recommended to go to Kiyomizu-dera Temple → Kodai-ji Temple in that order!
