Fayu Temple, also known as the Back Temple, is the second largest temple on Putuo Mountain. It is located at the foot of Guangxi Peak at the northern end of Qianbusha. The Nine Dragon Hall (also known as Yuantong Hall) in the temple features a nine-dragon caisson ceiling and some glazed tiles relocated from a Ming Dynasty palace in Nanjing. It is known as one of the three treasures of Putuo Mountain and is unique in China.

The Nine Dragon Wall, adorning the wall opposite the Heavenly King Hall at Fayu Temple, is meticulously carved and joined together from bluestone, creating a truly remarkable piece without any gaps. The temple also boasts precious ancient trees such as the Dragon and Wind Cypress, ancient ginkgo trees, and a gift from the Lianli Arhats, as well as stone balustrades depicting the Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars and Cloud Dragons Flirting in the Sea and Sky, all unique and rare on Putuo Mountain.
