Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine was built in 711 AD. It is located on the Inari Mountain in Fushimi District, Kyoto City, which is revered as a divine domain. It is the head shrine of about 30,000 Inari shrines in Japan. It has a history of more than 1,300 years and has been revered by the public since ancient times. The largest representative building of the shrine is composed of many torii gates, and the vermilion "Thousand Torii Gates" stretch all the way like a tunnel. Each torii gate is also engraved with the name of the person who "donated" the torii gate.
There are many fox-shaped statues everywhere in the shrine, and the appearance and expression of each statue are also different.
The shrine also has many historical buildings designated as important cultural properties, which attract countless tourists from home and abroad to make a special trip. It is a representative attraction in Kyoto.
Although the entire torii gate was crowded with people when I first arrived, after walking through the Thousand Torii Gates, I came to the Okusha Worship Center, where many souvenirs and amulets were sold.
Most people will turn back after walking through the Senbon Torii, so there will be relatively fewer people walking to the Yugo Torii. If you want to walk around the entire Inariyama, it will take at least 2-3 hours.
PS: Fushimi Inari Taisha is open 24 hours a day, all year round
But the time for selling amulets and granting red seals is from 8 am to 5:30 pm
