The unique shacha hotpot at the B3 food court at Hanshin Department Store/Chenggong Store in Kaohsiung (Xu Tai Shan Shacha Hotpot) is a must-try local delicacy in Kaohsiung. It's also one of my favorite restaurants. Today, after a typhoon passed through Kaohsiung, the airflow affected the heavy rain, so I had to go to the Chenggong branch near my home for lunch. The weather was perfect for hotpot, so I chose the Xu Tai Shan Shacha Hotpot set (American Short Rib). It came with a plate of mixed vegetables and the short ribs were beautifully tender and sweet, truly delicious! 😋 The bonito broth was served and had a wonderful aroma. The blanched vegetables were even better with the signature shacha sauce! It was a truly delicious dish. The young and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. It's a great restaurant, highly recommended.
