[Atago Shrine] ⛩️ Mount Atago, Kyoto

🏖️Overview:
Atagoyama is a 924m high mountain located in Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City, and has been an object of worship🙏 since ancient times. At the summit is Atago Shrine, which has long been known as the god of fire prevention and fire suppression🧯. In addition to the main approach, there are several other hiking trails, and tens of thousands of worshippers visit every year.

💞Reasons why we recommend it:
This time, we started the climb from JR Hozugyō Station🚞. We proceeded through a forested area🌲 with a steep climb. The hiking trail was well maintained, and when it joined the main approach halfway, the path became wider and it became very easy to walk😃. We climbed up to Atago Shrine, and there were several places where we could see beautiful views through the trees.

📍Access:
🚌Take Kyoto Bus to Kiyotaki, get off at Kiyotaki, and walk for about 2 hours
Get off at JR Hozukyo Station, and walk for about 2 hours and 30 minutes
