Hokanji Temple, commonly known as Yasaka Pagoda, is a landmark of Kyoto. The image of Yasaka Pagoda appears in many Japanese travel books and websites. as a five story Japanese style pagoda, it stands out in the old town of Higashiyama. Yasaka Pagoda is a five story pagoda with a height of 49 meters, built in 592 by Prince Shotoku Taishi, which is considered to have been built before Kyoto become the capital in 794 it is a shopping district with sweet shops, local shops, souvenir shops, etc. The wooden shop houses on both sides have been preserved in the old Japanese style, along the way. This area atmosphere of old Kyoto is truly authentic.
