Arashiyama one day trip

Here is a one-day travel plan in Arashiyama: places to visit, places to eat, cafes, and fun activities all in one day. Let's see where there are.

1. Start your day by traveling from JR Kyoto Station by taking the JR Sagano Line (San-in Main Line) to Saga-Arashiyama Station. It takes about 16 minutes. You can buy the JR Pass and other passes on Trip.com.

2. Then walk for about 10 minutes to have coffee at %Arabica Arashiyama, a coffee shop located along the Katsura River near Togetsukyo Bridge. Enjoy quality coffee with a beautiful river view.
Open: Everyday 9:00-18:00

3. After that, walk across Togetsukyo Bridge to enter the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, a world-famous photo spot. Take a walk on the quiet path and experience the beautiful nature.
Open: Everyday

4. For lunch, we went to Steak Otsuka, which is not far from the bamboo forest. This restaurant is famous for its high-quality wagyu beef. But you should book in advance because the restaurant is very famous.
Open: Mon-Wed and Fri-Sat 11:00-14:30

5. After eating, we rented bicycles nearby and rode around Arashiyama area, exploring places like Tenryu-ji Temple or Okochi Sanso Villa to fully enjoy the natural scenery and Japanese culture.

6. End the day by traveling back to Saga-Arashiyama Station and taking the train back to Kyoto Station.
