Rainy Spring Serenity at Shugakuin Imperial Villa

#aprilblooms

I spent a quiet spring holiday in Kyoto, and even though the weather wasn’t ideal, there’s something truly special about the rain-soaked gardens of Shugakuin Imperial Villa. The lush greenery and delicate flowers looked even more vivid under the soft drizzle. The view from Rinkuntei (隣雲亭) remains one of my favorite scenes in all of Kyoto — peaceful, expansive, and so classically Japanese.

It’s a spot that feels a little hidden away from the usual tourist path, perfect for a slow and mindful walk.

Why You Should Visit:

✔ Rain brings out the beauty of the gardens and landscape
✔ Breathtaking view from Rinkuntei, especially in spring

📍Address: Shugakuin Yabusoe, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-8052
