These traditional wooden boats are such a cool throwback, and cruising down the Uji River is just peaceful. You get to kick back and enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding nature, shrines, and the occasional cherry blossom (depending on the season).
It’s super relaxing and a nice break from the hustle of the city. The boat guides usually give a little history lesson, so you can learn some cool facts about the area while you float. The vibe is super low-key, so whether you’re with friends, family, or flying solo, it’s a perfect way to just enjoy the scenery and have a chilled out day. If you're in the Fushimi area, definitely give it a try. It’s a unique, peaceful way to experience Kyoto!
