A 100-year-old bathhouse in Kyoto converted into a cafe

さらさ has several stores in Kyoto. The most special one should be Cafe Sarasa Nishijin near Kinkaku-ji Temple. The cafe was renovated from the "Old Fujimori Onsen" public bathhouse with a history of about 100 years, and these words can still be seen above the door. The entrance has a traditional Tang style roof. The wooden door is old. The interior retains some of the decoration of the previous bathhouse, and the walls are paved with tiles of different patterns, which is very nostalgic. It is now listed as a tangible cultural property.
If you don’t have high requirements for food but want to feel the Showa-style atmosphere, you can take some time to check it out 👀. If you know Japanese and are interested in comics, you can borrow comics from the cafe while dining. As the cafe is unique and attracts many people, please allow about 1 hour to wait for a table. The Cafe serves hot meals, including Turkish rice. But I would like to remind everyone that from 15:00 to 16:00 🕰️, there are only desserts 🍮 and drinks.
