The Yellow River Scenic Area, located 20 kilometers northwest of Zhengzhou, marks the starting point of the " hanging river " and the dividing line between the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River. In 1952 , Chairman Mao Zedong inspected the Yellow River here and issued the call to " manage the Yellow River well . " In 1958 , Premier Zhou Enlai directed flood control and rescue efforts at the First Yellow River Bridge here.
The scenic area has five major scenic areas completed and open to the public, including Wulong Peak, Yueshan Temple, Luotuo Ridge, Emperors Yan and Huang, and Xinghai Lake. There are more than 40 scenic spots distributed here, including the " Giant Sculptures of Emperors Yan and Huang " , " The Nurturing Statue of the Mother Yellow River " , " Yu the Great " , the Yellow River Stele Forest, the First Bridge over the Yellow River, the place where Chairman Mao inspected the Yellow River, Futian Pavilion, Jimu Pavilion, Peacock Garden, etc.
This is the best place to view the Yellow River. This section, with its " hanging, dangerous, surging and vast " features, blends with the morning glow, evening clouds, smoky willows, clear mist, waves, sail shadows, wild geese formations, snowfields and other landscapes to form an infinitely changing landscape of the four seasons and a magnificent landscape painting.
The sunrise and sunset over the Yellow River make visitors linger and return. The Yanhuang Altar of China not only displays the 5,000-year history of the development of Chinese civilization to the world, but is also a holy place for the descendants of Yanhuang around the world to trace their roots and pay homage to their ancestors.
