Compared to the bustling crowds at Rurikoin Temple, Yusai-tei has a daily visitor limit and requires online reservations one month in advance.
Yusai-tei, a renovated Meiji-era residence called "Chidori," served as the inspiration for Nobel Prize-winning author Yasunari Kawabata's novel "The Sound of the Mountain." Today, it is also the studio of dyeing artist Yusai Okuda, who has revived the lost imperial dyeing technique known as "Yume Kōrozen." The building showcases the magical interplay of light and fabric throughout its interior.
