Lake Biwa Canal Museum - Free local Museum

Address: Japan, 〒606-8437 Kyoto, Sakyo Ward, Nanzenji Kusakawacho, 17
Access: Tozai Line, Keage Station
Price per person: Free

Found this free local Museum on the outskirts of Kyoto. The museum is very close to the Keage Incline (Hotspot during cherry blossom season).

The museum explains the creation of the Lake Biwa Canal in Kyoto which is used as a distribution channel for Water in the early days of Kyoto. It's a relatively small museum with 2 main levels. Pretty cool if you like to know some local history about Kyoto.

Once you exit the museum, there is a pathway just outside that leads to the Keage Incline which is along the railway track that was used for the Kyoto water distribution. The railway track has some pretty scenic and quiet views.

So if you are around the area during cherry blossom season, why not checkout this small museum and learn Abit of Kyoto's history?
