Not far from Yasaka Pagoda is a small shrine.
Yasaka Koshindo Shrine, also known as Kongoji Temple, is located in the Higashiyama district of Kyoto.
It's famous for its "kukurizaru," colorful, round cloth bags hung throughout the shrine grounds.
These kukurizaru symbolize the bound monkeys, symbolizing control over worldly desires and desires.
