The Haiyuan Grand Mosque, built after multiple renovations and expansions, now covers an area of ​​4,100 square meters. Its design blends Chinese palace style with Arabic architectural elements. It is the oldest Islamic mosque in Haiyuan County, Zhongwei City, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. The Moon-Watching Platform, Sutra Hall, and Main Hall are all paved with 3-centimeter-thick pine planks. The eaves of the doors and windows are adorned with reliefs of verses from the Quran in gold lettering, lending it a solemn and awe-inspiring appearance. Surrounding the mosque are 14 towering elm trees, each about the same age as the mosque itself, with a circumference of approximately 4 meters, further enhancing its grandeur. It is the central venue for Muslim religious activities in Haiyuan County and a "mais" (place of worship) for the "Hayeh," a place of simplicity and solemnity.
