[Kyoto, Rurikoin Temple🍃] The silence before the autumn leaves and the beauty of the reflection of fresh greenery

Rurikoin Temple sits quietly in Yase at the foot of Mount Hiei.
While it's often associated with autumn foliage, it's actually most tranquil and beautiful during the season of fresh greenery just before the leaves turn red.

When you go up to the second floor of the Shoin study, the fresh green leaves of the maple are reflected in the polished desk like a mirror, making it seem as if you're floating in the forest.
The way the green sparkles in the light is different from the splendor of autumn leaves; it has a transparent beauty that evokes the breath of life.
In the garden, the Lapis Lazuli Garden, the moss shines with freshness, and only the sounds of the wind and birds echo in the silence.
One of the temple's charms is that it's a time when there are fewer tourists, allowing you to leisurely enjoy the view all to yourself.

In mid-October, before the leaves turn red, you can visit without a reservation. Around 50 people line up at the 10 a.m. opening time, but by 11 a.m. the line thins out, allowing you to enter without waiting and avoid the crowds.
