📍 Kyoto Nijo Castle Visit Review

Nijo Castle, built by Tokugawa Ieyasu for his Kyoto residence, is a symbol of Japanese history and power. Its exterior is magnificent, and upon entering, a meticulously maintained garden and the beauty of its Japanese wooden structure are immediately apparent. Shoes must be removed to enter the interior, and the "weeping floor" (sounding floor) sound heard with each step in the hallways was particularly impressive. This sound was designed to detect intruders, allowing visitors to experience the meticulous design of the time. 🏯

Exhibition guides and explanations are provided in both English and Japanese, making them easy to understand for international visitors. Paintings and decorations in each room vividly capture the atmosphere of Japan's feudal era, and the gold-leafed folding screens are particularly beautiful. The garden surrounding the castle is spacious and well-maintained, making it both a historical site and a wonderful place for a stroll. 🌿

Admission is 1,300 yen for adults, and the open area may vary depending on the season. Located in the heart of Kyoto, it's easily accessible and makes for an efficient way to visit the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Shijo area. With both historical and artistic significance, it's a must-visit during your Kyoto trip. 🎟️
