This autumn, I visited the Kyu-Mitsui Family Shimogamo Villa, a beautifully preserved residence near the famous Shimogamo Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site and spiritual power spot in Kyoto. I explored the main house’s first floor and the serene garden, both offering a quiet glimpse into refined Japanese architecture and seasonal beauty.

Afterwards, I walked along the lush, tree-lined path that leads to Shimogamo Shrine. Surrounded by tall trees and crisp autumn air, the approach felt peaceful and invigorating—like a natural retreat right in the heart of Kyoto.
