Breakfast Nasi Dagang with an Amazing Paddy Field View

Nasi Dagang Pak Malau is located in Kampung Makam Mahsuri, and if I’m not mistaken, it went viral some time ago. As the name suggests, their main specialty is nasi dagang, along with various traditional kuih.

Alhamdulillah, when we arrived, there was still an empty hut available — right at the very back. That meant we got to enjoy a beautiful view of the paddy fields and mountains while eating. Honestly, the view here is such a bonus on top of the tasty food.

Personally, I think their nasi dagang was really good and totally suited my taste. The beef curry I had was delicious, the kuih were great too, and the iced coffee was spot on. Overall, I was really satisfied — good food with a gorgeous view.

On top of that, there was live traditional Malay music played by a band, which made the dining experience even more enjoyable. The owner, Pak Malau himself, was super friendly. Dressed in full traditional Malay attire, he really stood out. He spoke so politely and eloquently in Malay, which was nice to hear.

After eating, we took the chance to snap some photos around the paddy fields. If there had been a small bridge across the water channel, we probably would’ve taken photos right in the middle of the fields. But since my back is still recovering, I didn’t dare to jump around too much.
