Phatt Luang
Located 3km northeast of the Presidential Palace in the city center, Pha That Luang is the most famous building and symbol, so much so that its photo is used in most travel brochures introducing Laos. Its official name is Pha Chedi Lokajulamani, meaning 'the most precious and sacred pagoda in the world'. Currently, Sangkharat, the highest monk of Laos, resides here.
