The village’s architecture is world-famous for its “diaojiaolou” (吊脚楼) — wooden stilt houses built into the mountainside without nails.

Homes are built in harmony with the land, creating a flowing, terraced effect across the hills.

At night, the entire village lights up, forming what’s often described as “a river of stars on the mountain.”
