Don't miss this place when you go to Leshan!

Don't miss this lesser-known gem in Leshan -just as impressive as the iconic Giant Buddha carved into the cliffs. I'm talking about the ORIENTAL BUDDHA CAPITAL: none other than the fifth largest grotto-complex in China!
This is a large Buddhist cultural theme park near Leshan Giant Buddha. It houses a huge collection of Buddhist statues (over 3000) built into the forests and cliffs, some of which are directly carved into the cave rocks, resembling famous grottoes like those at Longmen or Dunhuang.
Many people miss out on this place when visiting Leshan, not knowing there are thousands of impressive sculptures and statues, as well as a breathtaking 170-meter-long reclining Buddha - the world's largest sleeping Buddha! Besides, there are far less people which, personally, makes it more enjoyable. And it's still very near Leshan Giant Buddha, so you can walk there right after checking out this place.
