23-year-old Solo Trip to Tibet | Seven-Day Budget Travel Guide
Lhasa is not in Tibet, Lhasa is on the way
In my 23rd year, on the eve of the Lunar New Year's Eve, I finally fulfilled the wish of taking a backpacking train trip to Tibet alone👇👇👇

Transportation Choices
Entering Tibet🚄: Train from Chengdu, hard seat for 30h over two nights
Leaving Tibet: Choose a window seat on the right to see groups of snow-capped mountains

Itinerary
Day1-2: Chengdu→Lhasa (Z322) Spend an unforgettable day and two nights on the train
Day3: Arrive at Lhasa station at 7 am→Visit Potala Palace→Yao Wang Mountain→Heavenly Post Office→Barkhor Street→Jokhang Temple
Day4: Day trip to Namtso
Day5: Day trip to Yamdrok Lake and Karola Glacier
Day6: Sera Monastery→Potala Palace→Nanshan Park
Day7: Tibet Museum→Norbulingka→Song of Lhasa
Day8: Flight back to Chengdu

Accommodation
Traveling alone, staying in a hostel is a great choice, it's easy to meet new friends, chat about what you've seen and heard on the road, and it's convenient to join a group for outings!
day3️⃣-day4️⃣: Lhasa Shengtu Scenic Hotel (Potala Palace branch)
Highly recommended!!! Free laundry and drying machines, rooms with all-day oxygen and heating, rooftop view of the Potala Palace and sunset
day5️⃣-day7️⃣: Lhasa Five-Year Class Youth Hostel

Local Transportation
Lhasa city basically has shared electric scooters for 4 yuan/20 minutes, and the distance between each scenic spot is only a few kilometers, so it's very convenient to ride an electric scooter
