A train museum in the old station

In part of the old Lianyungang train station is a museum to the railway line and station itself. This station was once very important for goods to and from the port as well as tourists visiting the city. There are still some fast trains which run from the station.

The museum itself is very thoughtful with some interesting exhibits. For example, some stories and history of the railway workers in Lianyungang and some photos of the station in past years. There is also an interesting exhibit about China’s fast train network and its impact.

In May holiday the museum was completely empty and the staff member managing the museum was very helpful and friendly.

Lianyungang train museum is a good choice to do something a little different and cultural in the city apart from just the beach.
