Stayed at the voco cruise ship hotel!

voco, a brand under InterContinental Hotels Group, has developed rapidly in the past two years. This year, it opened two hotels in Lianyungang, among which the Lianyungang Haizhou Bay Star voco hotel is the world's first cruise ship hotel project under the voco brand of InterContinental Hotels Group.

On this trip to Lianyungang, I boarded this cruise ship. The hotel ship is fixed at the shore, but the overall feeling is still like a cruise ship about to set sail. It has 8 floors of functional space, with about 52 rooms. Due to the ship's layout, the room layouts and sizes vary. I stayed in a king bed sea view room, with a fresh and elegant interior design, three floor-to-ceiling windows bringing in views of the bow and the city, making it feel like floating on the sea.

The nightly room rate is relatively high, mainly because of the all-inclusive dining experience. The Western breakfast offers a wide variety; at noon, there are unlimited Cantonese dim sum, as well as self-service salad and fruit; in the evening, there is a super generous buffet dinner with unlimited durian, crab legs, sweet shrimp, and even small lobsters delivered to the table. For two people, you can fully get your money’s worth—super worth it. There is also a Chinese restaurant featuring Huaiyang cuisine.

At other times, you can sit at the rooftop bar, enjoying specially crafted cocktails inspired by the nine countries along the Belt and Road while listening to soothing music; during summer weekends, the hotel regularly hosts marine environmental-themed DIY craft activities; there is a kids’ corner with entertainment suitable for children; you can also take a yacht out to sea for sightseeing and enjoy a leisurely and pleasant time.

The famous Huaguo Mountain Scenic Area is 30 minutes from the hotel. It is recommended to buy tickets in advance and reserve half a day to visit. You can climb Jiangsu’s highest peak and explore the Water Curtain Cave. The Lian Island Scenic Area is a 5-minute drive from the hotel, featuring the sea, beaches, picturesque villages, and a very relaxing seaside atmosphere.

As the only city in Jiangsu with a sea view and islands, the hotel’s opening has become a new landmark in the city. Staying in a sea view room is good, but staying on the sea is even better. This "seaside reception hall" goes far beyond the hotel itself and is becoming a brand-new card for the city!
