#chinatravel Dalian is one of those cities that lowkey surprises you. It’s up in Liaoning, right by the sea, and has this relaxed coastal vibe mixed with cool city energy. First thing, beaches. Not the tropical kind, but still super nice for walking, chilling, or eating seafood with ocean views. Xinghai Square is massive and fun to wander, and you’ll definitely spot rollerbladers doing tricks like it’s 2003.
Hop on the tram (yeah, Dalian still has old school trams!) and check out Russian Street for cool architecture and random souvenir shops. Kinda touristy, but fun.
Tiger Beach and the coastal road are great for photos and just vibing. There’s also a little amusement park that feels retro in the best way.
Seafood is a must, grilled squid, clams, and everything in between. Local spots are where it’s at.
Overall, Dalian feels like a city that’s doing its own chill thing. Not too crowded, super walkable, and just a nice break from the mega city madness.
