Lay back and relax in Lijiang

Stopping in a hotel in the centre of Lijiang Ancient City I was instantly struck by both the charm of Lijiang as well as its popularity. After heading to the edge of the Ancient city for an amazing meal we came back to the centre to relax and watch the City at night with a coffee as time passed by.

The next day we headed to Lashi lake. This is a fantastic place to escape the crowds, relax or be active. You can walk around the beautiful fields admiring the lake, taking photos. You can also Kayak and take a horseback ride up the mountains. As I was with my son we did all of the above which made for a great day out for everyone.

In my final day I spent the afternoon in Baisha Ancient town. A much smaller and quieter Ancient town where you can really relax and chill. There are an abundance of cool and quirky coffee shops to relax in, as well as bars, restaurants and shops to visit.

Before leaving in the morning I headed to Black Dragon Pool for a nice walk around the park, before coming back into the Ancient City to shop for tea at one of many of the local tea stores selling Yunnan tea.
