Chongben Hall is located at the north end of Changqing Bridge on Fuguan Street in Wujiang, Jiangsu Province. Facing south and facing the water, it faces Jiayin Hall across the river to the east. If Tongli is compared to a museum of ancient architecture, then Chongben Hall is a finely carved work of art within this museum, its exquisite craftsmanship and profound connotations captivating every visitor.

The entire complex extends vertically along the central axis, comprising five sections, including a foyer, main hall, front building, back building, and kitchen. While the hall's scale is modest, at less than an acre, it remains remarkably compact and exquisite. Chongben Hall's most captivating feature is, of course, its diverse carvings. Entering the courtyard, one encounters a small courtyard with a flowerbed of lake stones, where Indian jasmine and red maple trees complement each other beautifully. A brick gatehouse faces north, surmounted by a wooden-like flying rafter bracket. The architrave is inscribed with auspicious dragon patterns. Below, a granite threshold features a central "yellow wolf box" with a movable latch. A "piece of jade" is adorned with auspicious herbaceous grass motifs at each end. A "wrapping cloth" is engraved with precious flowers. Inside, a deep relief depicts a "carp leaping over the dragon gate," a metaphor for promotion and prosperity.
