The Mu Palace is located at the foot of Lion Mountain in the ancient city of Lijiang. It was the palace of Mu Tusi in the Ming Dynasty. When Xu Xiake visited Lijiang, he described the Mu Palace in his travel notes as "a palace as beautiful as that of a king."
Tickets for Mu Mansion are 40/person. No reservation is required. Just buy tickets at the door.
After buying the tickets, there will be Naxi brothers and sisters at the door to lead you to tour the entire Mu Mansion and introduce their culture, which is very unique.
The whole guided tour process took about 1 hour. The young lady who led us was very patient and meticulous. She slowly explained the entire structure of the Mu Mansion and their culture. After that, we were free to move around and take pictures.
The Mu Palace has not only magnificent meeting hall, Wanjuan Tower and Dharma Protector Hall, but also exquisite and gorgeous pavilions. You can also go up to the upper floor of the Sanqing Hall halfway up the mountain to overlook the entire Lijiang Ancient Town. It is definitely worth a visit.
