What would it be like to dine in my ideal courtyard in Shuhe Ancient Town?

🎋||A Hidden Gem in Shuhe, Lijiang: "Le Xiang Creative Fusion Cuisine"

It's currently the rainy season in Lijiang, and I stumbled upon this elegant and creative private restaurant in Shuhe during a light drizzle.

This is exactly what my ideal courtyard would look like. To the left of the entrance is a café space. Further in, the plants are arranged with a pleasing balance of density and sparseness; the hydrangeas are in full bloom, brimming with natural vitality. It's clearly well-maintained and must be even more beautiful in the sunshine. The owner is also super nice, carefully explaining each dish. I saw someone recommend the yak dumplings 🥟, and it turns out they're handmade by the owner's mother. I definitely have to try them sometime.

🟠Sichuan Peppered Boiling Snow Mountain Fish: Those who enjoy pickled fish will also love this dish—it's perfect with rice! One fish offers two distinct textures—the fish meat is incredibly tender and not fishy at all, while the bones are crispy and fragrant after frying.

🟠Fennel Crispy Black Pork: This dish tastes just like Typhoon Shelter style, even the chili flakes are incredibly fragrant! The outer layer isn't too battered, and the fennel filling is fried together with a piece of pork and some chili flakes—the texture is absolutely divine.

🟠Mom's Handmade Yak Dumplings: The most delightful surprise! The dumpling skin is very chewy, the filling is juicy, and it has a sweet and fresh yak flavor. (Funny thing is that there are different ways to wrap the dumplings, showing the restaurant's interesting attention to detail.)

Besides, the soup is also very flavorful, and the rice is sprinkled with rose petals, giving it a subtle rose fragrance.
