Hainan Island Road Trip (West Line) - Lingao Cape

Located at the northern end of Lingao County, Hainan Province, Lingao Cape faces the Beibu Gulf to the north and the Leizhou Peninsula across the sea. It is located between Haikou City and the Yangpu Economic Development Zone.

• Coastline and Terrain: Lingao Cape is a cape in the Qiongzhou Strait with a 7 km long coastline and a 250 m long natural tide-blocking reef dam. The reef dam at the top of the cape extends straight into the sea, creating a unique terrain. In ancient times, it was known as the "Immortal's Guide."

• Marine Ecology: The waters in this area are clear, the beaches are white and fine, and the surrounding marine ecology is rich. It is home to many marine creatures, providing a good living environment for various fish and shellfish, and attracting many seabirds to roost and forage.

• History and Culture

• Hainan Liberation Landing Site: On April 17, 1950, the 40th Army of the Fourth Field Army of the Chinese People's Liberation Army landed at Lingao Cape to liberate Hainan. It was one of the main landing sites for the Hainan liberation sea landing battle, with significant historical significance and a deep red cultural heritage.

• Cultural Relics and Historic Sites: The scenic area is home to cultural relics and historic sites such as a century-old lighthouse, a Qing Dynasty customs site, a Ming Dynasty beacon tower site, and a Mazu Temple. These sites bear witness to the historical importance of the Lingao Cape sea area. It is the only tourist resort in western Hainan that combines red classic tourism and modern coastal tourism.

• Beach: Lingao Cape's beach and sea conditions are excellent, making it a great natural beach. Visitors can sunbathe and play in the sand or enjoy water sports such as swimming, windsurfing, and jet skiing.
