Babes! Just crawled out from the sunny beaches of Lingshui 🌞, I have to tell you about this underrated treasure spot! The seawater is as blue as gems 💎, the sand is as soft as cotton candy, but I also hit quite a few pitfalls... This post is full of firsthand tips, with so many emojis overflowing, quickly save it and go✨!
🚗 About transportation
✈️ Flying to Sanya Phoenix Airport is the best! It’s a 1-hour taxi ride to Lingshui after landing, and you can watch the coastline go from blurry to clear 🌊. The driver will even share secrets about the local seafood market~
🚄 The high-speed train is more convenient! It takes 20 minutes from Sanya Station to Lingshui Station, and a taxi from the station to Qingshui Bay costs only 15 yuan. Don’t take the tricycles right outside the train station—they tend to take longer routes 😉!
🛵 Rent an electric scooter to explore the county! Lingshui town is small, and a scooter costs 30 yuan for a whole day 🛵. Pop into sour noodle shops when you pass by, stop when you see coconut sellers, and enjoy the sea breeze while cruising—it’s 100 times better than driving!
🏖️ Must-visit spots
🌊 Qingshui Bay
The beach here "sings" 🎤! Walking barefoot makes a rustling sound, and the fine sand feels like stepping on clouds~ You must come at sunset 🌇! The sunset dyes the sea orange, fishing boats in the distance trail golden light, and every photo you take looks like wallpaper material 📸!
The rocky shore is perfect for beachcombing 🦀! At low tide, you can find little crabs and shells. Bring a small shovel and bucket, kids can play all afternoon~ But wear non-slip shoes because the algae on the rocks are super slippery!
🏝️ Fenjiezhou Island
If you’re here, you must go to the island! It’s a 15-minute boat ride 🚤. The island’s seawater is a gradient Tiffany blue, and you can see schools of small fish swimming around your feet in the shallows 🐠!
For the brave, try the water sports! Jet skis speed like flying over the water 💨, and banana boats bounce around making you scream until your throat is hoarse~ If you don’t want to move, find a hammock in the shade, listen to the waves, and daydream—this is paradise 🌴!
🌴 Yetian Ancient Village
Want to experience Li ethnic culture? Come here! The clinking of silver forging, the skillful hands of the brocade aunties, and bamboo pole dance performances 💃—dancing to the rhythm is super stress-relieving~
You must try the village’s coconut rice! Glutinous rice wrapped in coconut meat steamed to sticky perfection, every bite is full of coconut aroma 🥥, only 5 yuan each, half the price of outside the scenic area!
🍜 Food hits
🍜 Lingshui Sour Noodles
Help! How can this be so delicious 😋! The sour and spicy broth is appetizing, piled high with dried beef, seaweed, and crushed peanuts like a little mountain. Finally, add a spoonful of yellow lantern chili sauce 🌶️, and one bite is legendary!
Look for roadside shops with the "old brand" sign, 8 yuan a bowl, and the owner will add an extra half spoon of secret vinegar for you—super sour and satisfying~
🥥 Qingbuliang (Hainan Cold Dessert)
Hainan’s Qingbuliang is forever the best! Coconut milk base, topped with red beans, mung beans, taro balls, watermelon... then scoop a ball of ice cream 🍦, so refreshing it feels like your brain is blooming!
The night market stalls serve the most authentic Qingbuliang, 10 yuan a big bowl, the owner’s shaky hands are super generous, the toppings overflow~
🍢 Seafood BBQ
How can you not eat BBQ by the sea! Freshly grilled squid tentacles and saury fish 🐟, sprinkled with cumin and sea salt, sizzling with charcoal oil, paired with chilled coconut water 🥥—this is the right way to enjoy summer~
I recommend buying seafood at Xincun Port and then finding a restaurant to cook it. Flower crabs and mantis shrimp are so fresh they’re still jumping, and the cooking fee is half the price of the scenic area!
[CoolGuy] Pitfall guide
1️⃣ Don’t buy “specialties” in scenic spots! Fancy packaged coconut candy and pearl powder are exactly the same in county supermarkets but half the price 💰!
2️⃣ Sunscreen! Sunscreen! Sunscreen! 🌞 Lingshui’s UV rays can peel your skin off. Use Anessa sunscreen + arm sleeves + hat all together, or your mom won’t recognize you when you get home~
3️⃣ Don’t trust “scalpers”! Ignore those shouting “super cheap boat rides” on the street. Official docks have clear prices, safe and fair~
4️⃣ Don’t let the seafood vendor “help you pick”! Choose fresh seafood yourself and watch the scale carefully, or you might get swapped with dead shrimp or crabs 🦐!
💡 Super practical tips!
✅ Bring a long-sleeve thin jacket 🧥! It’s a bit cool by the sea in the morning and evening, and it also blocks the wind when riding a scooter~
✅ Prepare some small change 💰! Some stalls only accept cash, so have 5 or 10 yuan bills ready for buying sour noodles or coconuts~
✅ Try the local cherry tomatoes! Lingshui’s millennium fruit is super sweet 🍅, 10 yuan for 3 jin at roadside stalls, way better than supermarket ones!
✅ Check the tide schedule before beachcombing! Look up the low tide time in advance, or you’ll just watch others pick seafood~
Lingshui is truly a place you don’t want to leave once you go~ It’s not as crowded as Sanya, prices are friendly, and there’s plenty of sunshine, beaches, and seafood 🥰! Babes, take this guide and go, you’ll definitely have a blast~
