Free and Lesser-Known Hiking Spots in Guangxi


Summer vacation is here! Today, we’re introducing several free hiking spots with stunning scenery.

Here’s the guide:
①📍Jianlong Mountain
1. Location: Pohuan Village, Ninggan Township, Tiandeng County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi.
2. Highlights: Resembling the spine of a stegosaurus, it features pristine alpine meadows, rugged ridgelines, sunrise sea of clouds, an emerald-like reservoir, as well as a cliffside temple, ancient trails, and hidden sword caves, exuding a martial arts vibe.
3. Hiking Routes: Beginner-friendly route to Peak 1 takes 1 hour to summit for panoramic views; the advanced challenge is a 3km loop from Peak 1 to Peak 3, taking about 3 hours.

②📍Liuding Summit
1. Location: Mandong Village, Lian Village, Licun Town, Rong County, Yulin City, Guangxi.
2. Highlights: Known as "Guangxi’s Nalati," it boasts a unique mix of alpine meadows and towering coniferous forests, offering sunrise, sea of clouds, wildflowers, and herds of cattle and horses.
3. Hiking Routes: Beginner-friendly 5-6km round trip from Pingshi Village takes 2-3 hours; the advanced 7-9km loop (Longshuding-Pingshi Village) takes 4-6 hours.

③📍Wangzhou Summit
1. Location: Fangcheng District, Fangchenggang City, Guangxi.
2. Highlights: Dubbed "Guangxi’s Little Wugong Mountain" for its rolling meadows, spectacular clouds, and sunrise, it remains undeveloped with pristine landscapes.
3. Hiking Routes: Classic 6-8km loop (3-4 hours) for beginners, with steep sections; advanced routes suit overnight camping for stargazing and sunrise views.

④📍Jiangzhou Underground Corridor
1. Location: Jiangzhou Yao Autonomous Township, Fengshan County, Hechi City, Guangxi.
2. Highlights: The world’s longest cave in Permian soluble rock, featuring massive stalagmites, stone pillars, flowstone dams, and cave pearls.
3. Tips: Bring a flashlight/headlamp; some paths may be slippery.

⑤📍Haokun Lake
1. Location: Haokun Village, Lingzhan Yao Township, Lingyun County, Baise City, Guangxi.
2. Highlights: Crystal-clear lake surrounded by rolling hills, blending water and mountain views, with ancient Zhuang ethnic villages nearby.
3. Hiking Routes: Lakeside trails offer scenic loops, and nearby hills provide panoramic lake vistas.
