The former Dinglinzibian Police Station, located in Linyuan District, Kaohsiung City, is a significant historical building that bears witness to the evolution of local security and administration. It stands not only as a symbol of local governance during the Japanese colonial period but also as one of the starting points of the early police development in Linyuan, imbued with profound cultural and historical value. Built during the Japanese colonial period, the building served as a key police station in Linyuan. Its distinctive Japanese architectural style, including its wooden structure, black roof tiles, and surrounding Japanese gardens, evokes a sense of time travel. Entering the building, one can sense a rich historical atmosphere, with every detail telling a story of the past. The station's main structure, constructed from precious woods such as cypress, showcases the exquisite craftsmanship of the time. The kiratsuma-zukuri roof (a gable roof) and the karabōfu (a Japanese-style arched eaves) at the entrance are both classic elements of Japanese architecture. Over time, this police station is no longer used as a police agency. However, its valuable historical and architectural value earned it designation as a Kaohsiung City Historic Site in 2004. Following restoration and revitalization, the former Dinglinzibian Police Station has become a significant cultural landmark in the Linyuan area.
