A Day Trip to Lisbon, Portugal 🇵🇹
Today, we arrived in Lisbon, Portugal, and began our journey by visiting the magnificent Augustus Tower (Arco da Rua Augusta)! Passing through this imposing gate, we arrived at the bustling Praça do Comércio (Commerce Square). Facing the Tagus River, the square is surrounded by golden buildings and centered by a statue of the King. Standing here, you can fully immerse yourself in the grandeur of a former maritime power.
Next, we strolled towards the old town, walking along cobblestone streets lined with unique shops and colorful houses. I couldn't resist stopping to buy a piping hot Portuguese egg tart. The crust was crispy and the filling was sweet, making it a delicious treat to eat while walking.
Finally, we arrived at the Santa Justa Elevator (Elevador de Santa Justa). This 19th-century iron elevator resembles a miniature version of the Eiffel Tower in Paris. You can take it directly to the observation deck, where you can take in the panoramic views of Lisbon's red-tiled rooftops. It's incredibly romantic!
🇵🇹 A Stroll Through Lisbon in One Day
Today we’re in Portugal’s capital, Lisbon! The first stop is the impressive Arco da Rua Augusta, a grand triumphal arch that leads straight into the lively Praça do Comércio. Facing the Tagus River and surrounded by golden-hued buildings with a statue of the king at its center, the square truly reflects the glory of Portugal’s seafaring past.
From there, we wandered into the old town, strolling along cobblestone streets lined with colorful houses and charming shops. Of course, I couldn’t resist grabbing a freshly baked pastel de nata—crispy on the outside, creamy and sweet on the inside—perfect for snacking while exploring.
The day ended at the iconic Elevador de Santa Justa, a 19th-century iron lift that looks like a mini version of the Eiffel Tower. Riding it up to the observation deck gives you breathtaking views of Lisbon’s sea of red Rooftops—absolutely romantic! ❤️
