Buckingham Palace Royal guards 🏰

#buckinghampalace

Watching the Royal Guards at Buckingham Palace was one of the highlights of my trip to London! 🇬🇧 The iconic sight of the guards in their bright red uniforms and tall bearskin hats is even more impressive in person. I got there early to grab a good spot near the gates, and it was totally worth it. The Changing of the Guard ceremony started around 11:00 am, and the whole thing was such a spectacle – the precision of their movements, the sound of the marching band playing traditional British tunes, and the overall pageantry. 🎺

The ceremony lasts about 45 minutes, and I was amazed at the level of discipline and tradition on display. It’s fascinating to think about the history behind these guards, who’ve been protecting the palace for hundreds of years. Best of all, watching the guards is completely free! 🤑 After the ceremony, I spent some time wandering around the Victoria Memorial and taking photos of the palace’s stunning architecture.

If you’re planning a visit, make sure to check the schedule because the Changing of the Guard doesn’t happen every day. 📅 Afterwards, I strolled through nearby St. James's Park, which offers a lovely place to relax and enjoy some nature. For more royal sights, the Queen’s Gallery is right next to the palace and showcases some of the royal art collection. Seeing the Royal Guards in action was such a unique experience, making me feel like I was part of a living history! #trip #changingoftheguard #royalguards #londonexperience #britishtradition #mustseeinlondon
