This time, The Peninsula is offering a Mid-Autumn Festival set menu, full of beautiful symbolism.
It starts with four small appetizers. The lobster dumpling is incredibly plump and filled with fresh lobster meat, topped with a touch of gold leaf. The vegetable dumpling is also beautifully crafted, with vibrant colors. The char siu, a popular à la carte dish, is also included in the set.
The salted egg yolk prawns are absolutely delicious. The outer layer is crispy, and the salted egg yolk coats the surface, adding a rich aroma.
The Zhenjiang lion’s head meatball was a surprise. It also had a salted egg yolk flavor inside, which was amazing. It’s served on a bed of soft winter melon, which adds a refreshing balance.
The sweet fermented rice dumpling (jiuniang yuanzi) comes with a design resembling raindrop stones. The fermented rice is slightly salty, not overly sweet, with a hint of red bean flavor—an excellent way to end the meal!
