longsheng Rice terrace during May day holiday

on our trip to Yangshuo for 3 days , we planned to visit one of the most popular destinations in Guilin the Longsheng rice terraces ,
it is 3 hours away a from Yangshuo so usually people self drive or book cabs and stay the night at the beautiful hotels , we had to travel back to Yangshuo as everything was closed and
completely barren and deserted due to the travel restrictions and covid situation in shanghai
literally not a single tourist in sight , though it lets us soak in the beauty of this place in full capacity , you can’t stop thinking about the people who lost business while walking past the closed hotels , restaurants covered in dust and barely any locals around.
we wanted to meet and learn more about the ethnic groups of this region but couldn’t as the circumstances didn’t permit.
