Guilin: Longsheng sunrise at rice terraces

When the urban heatwave was about to "melt" me, I plunged into the Longji Terraced Fields, embarking on a refreshing and healing adventure straight out of a green fairy tale.
The moment I arrived, endless emerald green enveloped me. The tiered terraces resembled a giant matcha mille-feuille crafted by nature itself, with tender rice seedlings swaying gently in the breeze as if waving to welcome this visitor from afar. Taking a deep breath, the earthy fragrance blended with the fresh scent of young rice plants—a "limited-edition natural perfume" you'd never encounter in the city.
Strolling leisurely along the ridges, the soft, slightly damp soil cushioned each step. Occasionally, ducklings splashed joyfully in the paddies, creating tiny water sparkles. When tired, I'd rest under a tree's shade, listening to insects and birds while gazing at distant green mountains and terraces. Time seemed to slow, and all worries evaporated into thin air.
As sunset painted the terraces in warm orange hues, every water surface mirrored the sky's colors, shimmering more magically than any fairy-tale scene. Every photo taken here was postcard-perfect, ready to dominate social media feeds.
After exploring, local delicacies awaited. Bamboo-tube rice carried a subtle woody aroma—soft, sticky, and sweet at first bite. Tender bamboo-tube chicken absorbed all the bamboo's fragrance, delivering pure bliss with each mouthful. Paired with terraced-field red rice wine, its mellow richness left an unforgettable aftertaste.
Summer in Longji Terraces holds no urban clamor or swelter—just pristine nature and uncomplicated joy. If you crave escape from the city's "steamer," come here. Trust me, its beauty will captivate you utterly! Longji Terraced Fields · Longsheng
