If you ask me what best represents Fujian, I have only one answer: Tulou!
As long as you drink two pots of tea with the Hakka people, you don’t need a tour guide at all. The following is the story shared by the Hakka people in Anding~

The Chuxi Tulou Cluster is dominated by Jiqing Tower. As the largest building, Jiqing was once home to more than 70 households and was built 600 years ago. It was originally built by seven brothers from the same family over a period of 20 years. The walls are 2 meters thick, and the thickness decreases by 3-5 inches with each upper layer. The earthen buildings built in this way are warm in winter and cool in summer. Now, except for Jiqing Building, all other buildings are occupied by villagers.

There are many stable overseas Chinese in Singapore. Many of the deeply rooted Fujian overseas Chinese will give back to their hometown after making money. The house numbers at the entrance of the village and the stone with the word "粗" (coarse) were all built with large amounts of private investment from overseas Chinese. At present, Anding is mainly managed by the Xu family, who are responsible for the renovation of the council, and Jiqing Tower is also being renovated by a private council. "Xu Family Rules" are also carved on the stone at the entrance of the village. I heard that some time ago the whole village invited more than a hundred family members and friends of the Xu family to a buffet, which was very lively.

The word "Chu" has the same pronunciation as "Chu", so it was changed to Chuxi Tulou because it was too complicated. Compared with Yunshui Creek and Tulouwang, this place is more primitive and quieter. Thanks to the inconvenient transportation here, it is not so commercialized. Tobacco is produced in abundance here, so you can bring some local specialty tobacco, liver-nourishing tea, and some homemade black kumquat preserves by Anding people as souvenirs. If you have time, you can stay for a night. The daily price of the private hot spring hotel is only over 100 yuan, and it is a natural sulfur hot spring with a very high cost-effectiveness!
