Hailuogou Glacier Tongue 2850m asl

City Gate Cave (photo1): is part of the glacier tongue (see next) and is a big cave exit of the glacier underground river, at 2850m. It is the lowest point of the Hailuogou Glacier.

Glacier Tongue (photo1 and 3): it ends at 2850m above sea level and it is is exactly nera the view point (you are not allowed to walk on it). It is 8km long and 0.3-0.7km wide and 40-300m thick. Attention! most people don’t know where is it because they expect a ice color, but is just there in a grey color, like wearing mimetic clothes!

Crescent Lake (photo 2): the water coming from the glacier seeps from underground and form a natural lake that has a shape similar to a crescent, from here the name. Another good place to see the lake is from the cable way.

How to get there? from N.3 Campsite (2940m asl) hike up on a nice pathway
