A Harmony of Ancient and Modern in Luxor, a Day on the Nile

The most memorable moment of my trip to Luxor was the day I spent with the Nile River. In the morning, I felt the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization with my whole body while touring the Luxor Temple and the Karnak Temple, and in the afternoon, I rode a felucca and leisurely floated on the quiet river. The sunset I saw from the boat was an indescribable emotion. As the sun set, the red color of the river water made the entire landscape look like a painting.

During the cruise, I enjoyed traditional Egyptian cuisine at a Nile River cruise restaurant that I had made a reservation for in advance. The simple yet spicy food and the river scenery outside the window were a perfect combination. Luxor at night, especially when viewed from the cruise, was more mysterious than during the day.

I would definitely recommend the felucca tour to travelers with time to spare. I was able to hear the quiet story of the Nile River on a boat that moved with the wind without any mechanical noise. It allowed me to experience Luxor with a different charm from the crowded historical sites.

If there is only one memorable day during my trip to Egypt, it would probably be this day spent on the Nile.
