Green Island's Guoshan Trail is highly recommended! The entire trail is about 1.8 kilometers long, taking roughly an hour and a half for a round trip. The slope isn't too steep, but you'll need some stamina, especially during summer when it can get quite hot. Be sure to bring water and sunscreen.
The trail follows an old historic path, giving it a sense of history. The forest is serene, and you'll encounter many native plants, butterflies, and lizards. If you're lucky, you might even spot a sika deer, which is absolutely adorable.
At the end of the trail, there's a pavilion with stunning views. You can see the entire eastern coastline of Green Island, with a wide-open vista. The breeze there is incredibly refreshing.
