Walking into Rua do Cunha feels like opening a door to the past, instantly immersing you in the unique charm of Macau. This narrow street is lined with low-rise, colorful buildings, bustling shops, and the enticing aroma of food fills the air. I stopped at an old pastry shop and tried a freshly baked almond cookie, which was crispy, sweet, and unforgettable. Further down the street, the warm aroma of Portuguese egg tarts greeted me, and I couldn't resist ordering one. The golden, crispy crust and rich egg flavor were satisfying with every bite. At the corner souvenir shop, shelves were filled with jerky, nougat, and unique souvenirs. The enthusiastic shop owner introduced me to Macau's traditional crafts, and as I listened, I felt the history embedded in each piece. As night fell, lanterns were lit, casting a warm orange glow over Rua do Cunha. This short street carries a rich culture and warmth, making it hard to leave. Rua do Cunha is not just a feast for the taste buds but also a cultural journey.
