Xinglin District, officially established on September 1, 1978, is located northwest of Xiamen Island, at the mouth of the Jiulong River, 18 kilometers from downtown Xiamen. The district covers a total area of ​​234.2 square kilometers and has a population of nearly 200,000. It also includes two national-level Taiwanese investment zones: Xinglin and Haicang.
