As you enter the Macau Holy House of Mercy building, a calm and classical atmosphere hits you. This building, built in 1569, stands in front of the Senate House. Its white walls, arched windows and symmetrical architectural lines show a strong European Renaissance style, which contrasts with the surrounding colonial buildings. It is not only a witness to the city's history, but also carries the spirit of benevolence and saving the world. As you step into the building, sunlight shines into the room through the arched windows, gently caressing every wooden handrail and marble floor. The exhibition hall displays the history of the House of Mercy, from its early deeds of helping orphans, the poor and the sick to its contributions to education and medical care, each story is moving. The oil paintings and precious manuscripts on the wall seem to quietly tell the story of the humanistic care of this land. Standing on the second-floor balcony overlooking the square in front of the Senate Chamber, the stone-paved square is sparkling and the crowds of people are constantly flowing. At this moment, I seemed to travel through time and meet those people who have dedicated their lives to charity. Their good deeds, like this building, stand quietly and become an eternal symbol of the Macau spirit.
