Introducing Wang Xiangyan

Wangxiangyan, one of the main scenic spots in the Taihang Grand Canyon, is located in Shibanyan Town, Linzhou City, Anyang City, Henan Province. How did Wangxiangyan get its name? Legend has it that over 3,300 years ago, in the 11th century BC, King Wu Ding of the Shang Dynasty and Fu Yue, a former slave prime minister, both resided here. Because it's a place where kings and prime ministers reside, the place became known as Wangxiangyan.

This is where Fu Yue, the Shang Dynasty's slave-owning prime minister, resided. Other notable figures include Xia Fu, a renowned scholar of the Eastern Han Dynasty; Zhao Dexiu, a Taoist priest of the Ming Dynasty; and Xu Sanli, the Right Vice Minister of the Qing Dynasty's Ministry of War. Why were these ancient figures so drawn to this area? Because its natural beauty is truly remarkable.

Wang Xiangyan, the "Soul of Taihang", faces a stream to the east and a cliff to the west. It is surrounded by steep cliffs on both sides, forming a highly closed valley. Facing the Zhuque Peak that opens out from the rock screen, it conforms to the ideal pattern of "Azure Dragon on the left, White Tiger on the right, Zhuque in front, and Black Tortoise behind" in ancient Chinese Feng Shui, and has attracted celebrities and elegant people from all dynasties to come here to cultivate themselves and live in seclusion.

Climate and best time to travel

The temperate monsoon climate here is full of rolling hills, unique peaks, deep forests and secluded valleys, and the faint sound of waves. It is truly wonderful and beautiful. It is suitable for travel in all seasons.
